Twitter Cringe
So, apparently a 20 year old guy from IIT-KGP having an offer from Trilogy, posted something controversial about diversity hiring.
Stupid people from Twitter including Amisha Agarwal (the diversity hire from Google), Aman Gupta (BITS Pilani DE Shaw, shitposter) amplified the message for engagement farming and getting montised.
Some stupid people tagged his employer and college, and as a result his offer was revoked and the college is planning to suspend him.
Whether or not I agree with his post is different, but where arevwe heading as a society?

I don’t know what the post is, so I can’t really comment on that. But we are living in a digital world, and it’s funny that people don’t realise actions have consequences. If people really want to make controversial statements, then they have to be in a position to make them. Just because he’s in his early 20s doesn’t mean that he’ll be excused. Companies take these things seriously and finding a replacement, especially a fresher, isn’t going to be that hard for them.

He posted something along, 'Girls who get hired through diversity hiring shouldn't give gyaan to boys, who have to face many ordeals to get a good job'. While I don't comment on his take, what is more disturbing is the fact that people were amplifying it to gain followers and earn money on Twitter.

This was a controversial statement, sadly for him. And while I don’t promote people monetising cancelling someone, that is the sad state of social media we are in. I hope people realise this before they post something that can potentially ruin their life.

I feel sorry for that guy, there is also one girl Tiya Bansal, she is completely against the reservation system but gets angry when someone talks about diversity hiring, what a hypocrite. I don't completely agree with that guy's statement because I know many girls who worked hard for getting a place in tech without that diversity factor

Someday back there was arnav gupta, tagging the employer's handle to punish a girl for some racist comment.
These bhaiya didi course sellers are a new menace to swe and society as whole

nothing against you or arnav gupta but arnav is anything but bhaiya didi's. I know he used to sell courses but he also has the credibility needed to sell those unlike these bhaiya didis.

@jameshalliday and that gives him the right to play god and threaten the opposing party by tagging their employers? Who died and made him the judge? He talks like he was born with all this wisdom from day 0 and looks down on others every other time. He might have the credibility to sell courses but the fact remains that he is also as big as a tw@t as they come.

Only people who are allowed to talk shit on Twitter are people who have nothing to lose and the guy who owns it....
Also how is this guy smart enough to get good offers and land IIT but not smart enough to know to not fuck with SJWs on Twitter

We make imaginary villains on social media—people we don't even know personally. The fact is any social media(including GrapeVine) brings out the worst in us. Not a fan of what the guy commented about women but his offer should not have been invoked. That's just too petty. Will the folks who did engagement farming quoting him even feel 2 bits of remorse about him? 0 fucks given by these SJWs. The whole Indian tech community is super toxic. I have met many of these folks IRL in conferences and meetups and have never seen folks with such an inflated sense of ego. Just because you work at Atlassian or JioCinema(which will lay off employees after 1-2 years, seeing their hiring patterns and Ambani's track record), doesn't mean you're better than someone or have dominion over others.
Guys please, the only thing I have learned in the 23 years of my insignificant life is only love and kindness solve our problems. Be empathetic to people, even those whom you don't like. It's easy for me to say all of this(I fail to do so many times myself) but please, let's try to be better people.

*revoked. Fuck auto-correct

It’s a matter of perspective. Let’s look at it from the company’s perspective. They have a brand name to live up to, and do not want employees to tarnish their reputation. In this case, this student became a part of the brand, and the comments he made affect its reputation, so they have every right to revoke the offer.
Second, the statement he made can be interpreted as sexist. Now there’s a chance that’s not what he intended, but intentions rarely matter in the real life, the results do. With such statements, the company has to analyse the risk, because there is a chance, however minor, that this guy can make the same statements at the workplace, leading to a whole new set of problems. The risk outweighs the rewards in this case. No company would want to take that risk, when it’s easier to just get someone else for that job.

Cancel culture at peak

Best thing to do these days is to have an anonymous account to shitpost cuz some rando feminazi sjw will get offended and get her simp army to cancel instead of having a proper discourse.

Snitches everywhere. Major F for that guy. One of the reasons why anonymous platforms are great
This is why I am anonymous on every platform and post nothing on LinkedIn where I am not.
