Trying to figure out next 5 years

I’ve been working as an engineer for the past 7–8 years mostly in backend, AI, and infrastructure doing work I’m proud of and delivering good results.

Over the last year, though, I’ve been feeling a growing sense of boredom with my current setup. I’ve been exploring different fields, trying to find something that excites me, but nothing has really clicked yet.

I’m even open to starting over completely working as an intern if needed and rebuilding my career from scratch in a new field.

Has anyone here gone through something similar? How did you navigate a career switch when you weren’t sure which direction excited you yet?
