For retation it totally depend upon your manager and your dependency on project.

If you want to be retained, why would you resign? 🤷‍♂️ just fyi, most cases they don't retain you, unless your ask is very small for an offer elsewhere. Or you are valuable to the project or client.

No MSI probably will try to negotiate. It's a decent gamble. Especially if you have 90 days NP.

If you are really an important part of the team then you can try or else ask your manager to give you project release because as per the current market situation, I would not suggest you to resign. When they are already looking for reasons to lay off employees, it wouldn't be a great time to play that card!
