Trending @Wipro; Unfair MSI hike

I’ve joined this company as a fresher in 2022 Sep and right after 3 months, I’ve got into a project and working my ass off to deliver my work everyday.

For all this hardwork, I’ve got MSI with 5% hike. Absolutely great. I’m not complaining about it.

But one of my friends, who joined along with me been on bench since joining and very recently got into a project 3 months back and got MSI hike of 6%. I mean what the hell wipro? I mean, I’m not jealous of my friend or anything, but I’m mad on this company for being unfair. That 1% extra hike gonna pay for my PG Rent.

I cannot even focus on my work right now by constantly thinking about this. Damn you company. Atleast be fair with loyal engineers 🥲

Currently wipro is trying to balance out the salaries, check with your friend. Maybe your salary was higher in the first place, due to which they have given 1% more to your colleague. Also if you want to work hard, you are doing it wrong. Work smart then you might get a good rating and a good hike.

I’m really sorry to say this. But, there’s no thing in Wipro such as balancing out the salaries 😂 and there never would be anything like that in future. I bet on it.
Me and my friend both started with absolutely same salary. It’s like a xerox copy.
I 100% agree to your point on working smart not hard. I need to learn how the damn politics work in corporate. I’m still getting there, slow and steady. Thanks for the advice 🙂👍

Hike is based on individual current salary and rating , billability factors, not based on tenure... I agree it's disappointing to get peanuts after our hardwork but we as a wiproit need to get used to it, until find the other better opportunity outside..

Brother, I too have same thought and can't focus in work However if we work like a cow they are going to give only 3 rating and 3 to 5% hike of pocket money 🥲

Got consecutive 4 star rating everytime except the last time. And no increment when everyone in my team got. Im the SME in my team. If i take a leave for more than 3 consecutive days my team will have 20 incidents and everyone will get escalations. Im leaving wipro now. Got 3 discussions about retaining me by my lead and HR and practice manager. But wipro can't afford me no more. Don't even bother with hikes and promotions. They are subjective and mostly they don't recognise. Better to get as much experience you want and move to a company till you find satisfaction. My team is literally dying to retain me hehe and i like that feeling.

The hikes and all are project and skill dependant, nothing to do with - if you have worked your ass off to deliver work. If the project does not have a good revenue base, whatever u do doesn't matter, u will only get minimum hike.

So, it is only said that the appraisals are company based but it is unsaid rule that it all depends on the project

Just type MSI on thedot portal under apps section. You can access your MSI PDF if you got this time.

MSI will be different based on account and its budget. Same joining date or MSI rating doesn’t matter.

If it’s based on account and budget, I’m fine with it. But if it’s based on my managers and HR decision, I regret joining this company 🫠
