I joined wipro in 2019 as a WASIAN, got trained in Oracle apps technical and deployed in support project related to infra monitoring. I manged to get release from that project in november 2022 but my billability got extended by my manger till june 2023 and that was exact time for appraisal ratings and my manager gave me 2 ratings to satisfy his ego even after knowing that its my last year of WASE and how crucial is the ratings and based on that my recruitment will happen. their were no performance issue till the time i was working and i wanted to switch project as per skills i had build for my career growth. Later on i raised concern and went for grievance readdressal but there also he told that it cant be change and after discussion with HR he cancelled my PIP which gets auto generated when the rating are below three. Time passes and finally it was time for recruitment in November 2023. Everyone of my batch got recruited even if they didnt submitted their appraisal for last 2 years. Those who have 2 ratings were also recruited bcz their managers had closed their PIP but not me as my PIP was cancelled by my HR and previous manager. Now i am in freepool since long as noone wants to take me in project as i am still a WASIAN having more than 4 years of experience and had 2 ratings in last year appraisal. Its been so long time that i am in freepool with old stipend but my friends and the whole batch got promoted and became senior project engineer and getting higher package. This setback has devastated me and i didnt know what to do. Recently i talked with a project manager regarding project as per my skill explained my past scenarios to him and he arranged short interview for me and after that considered me for deployment but again my luck was so bad that i got tagged in some other project that is not related to my skill and i even asked them to release me but they didnt even respond to my msgs.

And bro, see the good side, people don't even have projects wid them now and are getting laid off. But, you are lucky enough. So, if it's not possible for you to get a release from the current project, better work hard in this project for atleast 2-3 months(APPRAISAL PERIOD) , so that you'll get promoted. After that, your salary will be hiked and it'll be easy for you to switch as well.

Bro… everyone is having somekind of problem. So you cant judge which is good and which is not. I am just talking about the work culture we are trapped in. The kind of exploitations happen in wipro. You are talking abt good side bcz its not happened to you.

After having four years of experience and a knowledge in specific domain. Noone wants to start something which they need to learn from scratch. Specially when your skills have better demand and future in current or coming market.

Have you tried with Ombuds for your case?

Nope. I didn’t think its right thing to do. discussed this with some senior WASIANs and they said there is no room for ombuds for a WASIAN. They will play cool and trap you somehow and wipro will terminate you.
