I got an email that I’m reserved in a project. I’m am currently in role of senior software developer but this was for technical lead L1.

Will I get promoted if I move to this project? Also, how is the process of moving into a project.

I’m currently in a different project and open for tenure rotation. So, will I need my manager’s permission if I want to move into this other project

Yes , permission is not required but you need to discuss with your manager because he is the one who will release you from the project that I am getting a higher role so want to explore or if you want me to continue you can change a module and give me a n+1 plus role. So once you get the next role you will be getting promoted in the next 6-9 months

If I move to new project how long will it take to get promoted

If you will have to ask them (new project manager) to tag with a new role then in the next 9 months you should get promoted.
And if its same project then in next 6 months
