I have been in a project for almost 2.5 years. Now, the work-life balance is impacted I want to get released from the project. How to get released in a proper way if the manager is refusing to release me??

Check in your psp if your are eligible for rotation if yes. Then initiate a discussion with your practice manager and project manager and if possible copy HR as well.
If they can't release you ask for a band progression, try to get as much as benifit you can or you can also try outside as you deserve better and what you like.
