In PSP, under Employee Details the career band is something, and under Account and Project Details the SR Role Band is something higher. What does this mean?
Its role based tagging, check this with you manger he might have tagged you. Once you complete a timeline of 6 months you become eligible to get promoted, however, this also depends on accounts and you manager efforts whether you get promoted or not
Thanks! I have already completed 2 years in this role. I don't know since when I have this elevated band under Account and Project details. I have asked for promotion, and my manager has assured that he has sent my name. But, someone else got promoted from my project.
It doesn’t come under role based tagging at all. I thought the same before and reached out to HR management and they simply mentioned this type of tagging as “DIRECT ALLOCATION”. Role based tagging must be done through IJP portal by individual project manager. And I’m telling this with my experience that, we do not get promoted after 6 months. Because I’m in a higher band since past 8 and half months now. It’s all in the manger’s hand
Your situation is exactly a mirror replica to my case too. I’ve been tagged to a higher role by my manager under project details and it’s been already 8 months now. When I reached out to Wipro HR management to ask for promotion, they simply said that there’s nothing in their hands and they can’t do anything about it until or unless my manager asks them to promote me to a higher band. My manager is simply delaying the process by saying, it will be done next quarter and so on. It’s a never ending story.
They just play the ball to the other's court. Nobody actually wants to do anything.
