Trending @Wipro; Confused, Unsatisfied don’t know what to do
I’m a 2021 graduate. I joined wipro in March 2022. After joining wipro I completed my training in Java J2EE and after one month I got into a project where I worked as react js developer. In 2023, the particular account decided to release freshers due to budget issues. There were almost 23 freshers billable under that account, and they were just undergoing training. However, I was actively working in the team as a front-end developer. I was learning a lot and gaining good experience. Everything was going well, but then I got released.
Since then, Wipro's project availability has worsened day by day. I have continuously reached out to managers, the competency manager, and the WMG Head, but received no help. During this time, I was working on some mini-projects which saved me from LOP I think. Eventually, Wipro almost forcefully assigned us to service desk projects.
Now I’m very much worried about my career curve. It’s getting difficult for me to switch.

Same happened with me.
I'm a 2021 graduate, I joined Wipro in August 2021, after that I got trained in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence - Information Management (DAAI-IM). But I didn't get a project in technology I was trained in and I was tagged in a Java J2EE, Microservices without any training, okay that was fine, I started learning on my own. But in 2023 they released all freshers from that particular account due to so-called budget issues. Everything was going well, I was learning as I was working. But in between i got released.
After some time, i got tagged in a dummy project, then after releasing from it, I was put under LOP. After so much effort, I was not able to find any billable project.
So I begged for billable Support roles, now I am tagged in the project and working as a Desktop Helpdesk Support Engineer.
Now I can see no growth in me since past 1 year and getting away from my primary role as a Java Developer. Also looking outside for Backend roles but failing in interviews due to mismatch in knowledge and relevant experience.
Now I'm trapped in a desktop support role, don't know what to do.

Seriously…What a shitty organisation…Nothing but playing with employees’ careers

Don't accept any project you should decide now because you have financial freedom and starting of Career if you desk support roles like that while switching or growth in company will be hectic
