As I joined as a fresher in wipro, I am currently allocated to manual testing project. There is no scope in this project for automation testing and for change the project now I need to wait for 18 months in current account.

Why there is no scope for automation? Which customer will not want automation through well known free tools

Push your manager to discuss automation with customer. Take the lead and do some homework on your own also...which tool to use, feasibility etc.
