Once the swipe time is updated in the system and visible to you, you can apply wfh as well for the remaining hours of that day it won't affect anything

Is it mandatory to apply wfh/od for the remaining hours?

You can apply WFH. It won't affect the WFH balance if you have worked 4 hrs from office. But apply the WFH for rest of the time next day that's it.
