Trending @Infosys; Which is good H1B/switch with 100% hike?
Hi, I am having 5.4yoe, currently working as senior associate consultant. I got selected for H1B and visa is in process, but I am getting allmost 100% hike outside. I had decided to switch and applied esep last week, but now I am getting promoted to consultant role. Do I need to stay back?
Which is better option, i am totally confused

Just getting H1B, is of no use. I have couple of friends, who are holding H1B Visa from past 1 year, but there are no projects or requirements at on-site..Manager's are just saying, we are finding you opportunities...As of now, you can stay back. Get your visa stamped.. and wait for couple of months for travel..if you don't get to travel even after waitingfor 3-4 months, then switch to other organisation..

don’t take the carrot from Infy, switch and take 100% hike. the new role change doesn’t matter. hike matters

also no confirmation whether you will get to go US even after H1B, if you get it. they will keep you hanging 1-2 years minimum

Yeah just got to know that petition approval itself takes 3-5 months and then visa stamping, allocation of US project, all these will take minimum 8 months.
So decided to switch✌️

Not many folks get a US visa, if you get an opportunity to travel , it is definitely an eye opener, which no 100% salary hike can provide. I would like to leave it to your current financial situation and other responsibilities, if you need the 100% hike now. But overall from my perspective, if you get a chance to work in US, it is definitely an opportunity you should not miss.

It’s a kind of lollipop. I have H1B from October 2023 but still stamping is not done yet and after stamping also I’m not sure they will send me onsite or not. It’s better to switch to other company.

Onsite in infy has become like a scam especially when people trying to switch... they play this card. Even you got H1B still you can wait for few months if you are going onsite for sure. There is no such guarantee here. Better switch for 100% hike and there you may get onsite as well but yeah it takes little more time. Final say... don't fall into the trap here.

Take the 100% hike and run. Don't look back

100% hike
