Trending @Infosys; WFH after maternity leave
So I was recently on maternity leave and just joined back one week back. My child is only 5 months old so I can't really go back to the office right now since there is nobody else to look after him. I am not sure if they will give a WFH exception... If not , there is no option but to quit and look for a remote job

They do provide an exception, kindly submit medical reports and request for nearest DC option. Worst case, You just have to be in office 3.5 hrs to be counted as wfo.

Every company should give at least 1 year work from home after maternity leave. 3 to 24 months old baby still needs their mother for emotional, physical, and developmental support. At this age, babies are forming strong attachments and rely on their mother for comfort, security, and meeting their basic needs such as feeding, sleeping, and protection.

I came back from maternity leave recently. My baby is 1 year 2 months. I have been working from home only. Just discuss with your manager and they can provide wfh. Its not mandatory that one has to go to office. It all depends on unit. Maybe you can check with your unit hr or DM

You are from which unit

If you are on bench you need to come for all days, if in a project it's managers deciaion

You can also utilize ur leaves and also ask for a 3 month loss of pay, it's there in polices

I am assigned to a project. I asked him for an exception, he said that he needed to discuss it with someone and that he will let me know.

Usually managers can give exception in this situations for few months.

Hi , Pls submit a medical report by your doctor stating that you need to be there for the baby and you can't come to office. That should suffice.

Hey... In Infy they have good policy for Maternity leave i.e. if you raise a request for WFH and submit the relevant Medical proofs they will give upto 5months of WFH depending on the Project/account you align. One of my colleague has taken that benefit and it's really helping her.

For mothers returning from ML, they will provide wfh exemption till the baby turns one year old and we need to reach out to manager and Hr, i used to when I returned from ML

have a word with your pm then dm and hr. It is possible. Happened to many. no need to submit any medicals usually for this. Will happen for sure. Dint worry. Ppl will not deny wfh for genuine reasons.

Hi @RegalMax13 even my baby is 6 months old
And I requested an extension on WFH and got approval from my manager for next 5 months
You can simply drop an email to your RM requesting the same for the required period explaining the current situation
