Will never happen automatically!! You have to keep pushing once you complete 3 years in Jl5a and overall have 9+ years experience at least. Keep in mind people are waiting with far more experience. But if you have outstanding rating last 2-3 years your chances are higher. And you should already be performing some of jl6 activities like ALCON, PBS, Appraisals, 10-15 people reporting to you etc, getting business from clients, working on RFPS. The more thing you do out of this the higher your chances as competition is high and there are many with far more exp already doing the above
