Trending @Infosys; TPD for mapping projects to lateral joiners

I'm just curious how this Talent planning department works. Do they map us according to the skills evaluated by them during the interview after having a word with the manager for the project to be mapped or is it the other way around like once mapped, that is the first time the manager gets to know a talent is mapped to his demand?

From my experience, TPD people try to allocate people based on their skills and proj requirement.
But if there is no skilset resource available for specific proj requirements, then TPD will randomly assign you to any proj irrespective of technology/domain. As @Untameddragon has mentioned - Akkada bakkad bambe bo! It's the principle which they work on if nothing goes right.
