Trending @Infosys; Superannuation in Salary compensation

I was recently promoted to JL6, and noticed that superannuation has been added to my salary in the promotion letter, and this is taking a significant portion of salary hike. When I was a TL (JL5), I didn’t have superannuation. According to my promotion letter, superannuation comes at 15% of my basic salary. My question is, can I opt for a lower superannuation contribution in order to increase my take-home salary.

No, you can't opt for a lower superannuation contribution. It's a fixed part of your salary structure at JL6. It’s meant for your long-term benefit.

That's very bad. I already opted for NPS too with 10% of basic salary. Now this superannuation 15% of basis salary again. At the end in hand salary will less. Is there any option to withdraw superannuation easily or is there any lockin period.

It’s good in a way. It forces you to save. But don’t over invest in govt schemes. You already have NPS, EPF and now superannuation . Put most of your savings to equities

Ok, Thanks. So if superannuation contribution is reduced then that amount will be adjusted and given in allowances?
