Trending @Infosys; Stuck in a Loop

Don't know where this Software life is taking me. Its been 3.8years in Infy gained nothing but monthly salary, for name sake i am software engineer with zero skills everyday i get remind of this as "no skill yet" and this hits me hard...

In the beginning 2.5years i worked as an Application support with no scope in that project and got released and somehow cleared ACON after that, but even now i am on bench from last 3 months in ORACLE unit.

No clarity on when we get projects, when we get skilled when we get confidence of doing IT job, & whenever i listen about AI and Layoffs that's it everything is ruined.

These thoughts are rising and hitting hard beacuse iam in my late 20's...

Anyone in smae situation????

In infy most of the project are support project and some of them are using very old technology. If we became addicted to this comfort zone then it is really different with compete with market tech stack and we started loosing self confidence and stuck in this organisation. Better to upgrade our self technically and move from here as early as we get any outside offer.

I can understand your situation. If you are interested in the IT field, maybe try to learn some domain like development, cloud or Data science. Or try to find your interest in any other area. Staying in Infosys any more, won't give you anything other than salary. Please work hard instead of overthinking. And AI is not here to replace humans, It is just a copilot, not a pilot. Start upskilling as soon as possible

Learn some skills, master it, fake it in your resume and start looking for a change. Tell them you can join early as you are on the bench and get an offer. I know it will be difficult but you have to try if you want to get out of here. My suggestion: Learn python, genai etc as there are good openings and interviews are quite easy.

Getting good projects is not easy, you actually understand what kind of job or IT skill like development or AI excites you, take courses related to it, build resumes having those skills, grow on.
