I joined with 2 years of experience as a specialist programmer with (12 LPA with 2 lpa variables)
After 3 years with annual hikes my package was 13 LPA ... And then they promoted me to L2 i got only 23% hike I checked with them and they said 16 LPA is the max salary for L2.
Then i said then why don't you give me direct L2 when i joined with 2 years of experience or you can promote me within 1 year.
The funny part is that there is also one guy who is getting 16 LPA at L1 and after 3 years he got promoted to L2 with a 0% hike .
This is unfair and they didn't say these things earlier.....
But who are freshers in stg they are being promoted within 2 years with a 60% hike if their rating is commendable or outstanding.....
If the rating is met expectations they will get 30% hike only
My rating was commendable so with that explanation i must get more then 30% because met expectations guys getting 30% but i got 23% only because of max salary slab of L2.
So stg fresher after 2 years is getting the same salary that I am getting after 5 years and this makes me resign and there is a guy who came as my replacement in the project and joined stg with 2 years of experience with 14 LPA at L1 .......
I told everything to him that don't waste your time here you will not get anything after staying 2-3 years in infosys because of L2 max salary slab because anyway with annual hike your package will be 14 to 15 and at the time of promotion you will get 5 % increment only.
So i thought of sharing this with all of you who joined STG with some experience.
That's why I am also switching, it's not just the unfair part, you don't get to have the ownership of what you build which sucks. And you cannot create business impact by writing code here, only by clocking more hours you get recognised. No reward for creating good solutions, I automated an entire project's ci/cd and I am not even a devops guy, I still never got any appreciation for that. And definitely no monetary rewards.
Thus for the last 1 month I've been practicing dsa, hope to switch soon, now that companies are starting to hire again.
Only product base company ask full data structure...
Just prepare basic data structure

Sorting
Stack
Queue
Array
String
Linkedlist
Recursion
Freshers who joined STG directly as L1, they also don't get promoted within 2 years, 3 years is minimum that I know of so far
I know some guys who were promoted within 1.5 years as well ...... They used to participate in stg programs ...
Yes but generally they give L2 everyone after 3 years
That person you are talking they have promoted before 1 years, bcz Earlier they have promoted less than 2 exp to L2, but later no. It's 3 at least.
And yes whatever you are getting that is max slab for L2
Pls move outside of Infosys and join any other organization in same role and you will soon realise that you left a safe position in heaven and ended up in hell. Without evaluating current market position, it's not prudent to comment on compensation of 12+ LPA with just 3-5 years of experience.
Wondering how come Infosys is offering so hefty packages with just 2-3 years of experience lateral hires.
Remember - Those days are gone where CTCs were unnecessarily hyped to obnoxious limits. Now, even the top MBA recruit CTC has come down from 1 Cr to 50 LPA.

Many guys are working after office hours and even on weekends .....

Check guys on STG programming league who has codeforces rating more that top product based companies who offer 25LPA for a fresher where as infosys 9.5LPA.Infosys cannot afford them due to its service based model.So you cannot talk about market standards etc because these people deserve far more then what they receive but only problem is that are in the wrong place.
