I am a bit confused about short term transfer.

I am working on a project but from feb 2026 i am on bench (according to ALCON) and I talked to my manager He said that you are continue working on a same project and work will be same and this is for internal ops. and if anyone reaches out to your profile for a project just refuse them and tell them i am already on a project. So what is that and why i can't understand it.

Another question :- For short term transfer do i need to report that DC for work because my base DC is different and i am working from nearby DC from my home.
