Trending @Infosys; Seeking advice on a career dilemma

I worked at Infosys as a Java Spring Boot Developer for 3.8 years. Last June, I initiated my resignation with no offer in hand. After some effort, I finally landed an 11 LPA offer from a reputed US-based product company ("Company X"). My last working day at Infosys is September 30, and my joining date for Company X is October 3rd. I stopped actively applying after that but left my Naukri profile open, so I was getting calls even without applying. I attended interviews for a few product companies, but didn't get selected.

However, recently, I got an offer from a healthcare data company ("Company Y") for 14-15 LPA, offering WFH. I attended the interview, which had 4 rounds (2 technical rounds, 1 managerial + technical, and 1 managerial), but they stretched the timeline saying some random reasons. The final round was on September 27th. I already informed them and asked them to proceed faster and inform me on Monday, September 30, so I could plan accordingly.

On September 30, the HR from Company Y started ghosting me and didn't pick up my calls. So, I assumed I was not selected and prepared for my joining with Company X. However, today, the HR from Company Y suddenly called, and I couldn't attend, but he pinged me on WhatsApp saying I got selected and have an HR discussion tomorrow, which is October 3rd, my joining date for Company X.

He expects me to have an HR discussion tomorrow while I am supposed to join Company X. Do I expect him to provide an offer letter, or if I reject Company X without receiving an offer letter from Company Y, what is going to happen?

He said he can give my negotiated salary with a WFH option, and the offer letter will be sent in 2-3 working days after tomorrow. Should I go with Company Y? Is this normal nowadays?

I feel like he's forcing me to give up the Company X offer without having anything official yet.

I'm not sure what to do. I'm completely fine with Company X's offer, but Company Y's offer seems attractive since WFH would allow me to save more on rent.

Please suggest what to do now. It feels like Company Y is tentatively asking me to commit to one offer beforehand. Is it normal nowadays?

Hope you have joined Company X. Never join a company who does ghosting or do not follow an ethical process at least from a candidate's career point of view. Also without giving an offer asking to leave the other offer is very much bad practice. Best of Luck.

First of all congratulations 🎊 for landing offers and my suggestion is that a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. So, basically our company Y can ghost you even after your final negotiations( possible happened to one of my friends) and then you will lose both the opportunity.

If there's any chance of delaying your DOJ in company X (state family or personal reasons) then I believe that's the safest option.

Is it normal to have multiple offers (i can see others having like 4 offrrs and flexing). Finally they are gonna join only one company right? So what the other 3 companies gonna do.

I am not getting this company politics
