Trending @Infosys; Scary layoffs at Infosys

Recently i came to know about the scariest layoff at Infosys which we might not expecte..

My friend joined back in dec 2024 and got project around Feb 2025..as it was short term project and completely opposite to his skill set

So PM verbally promised that she will releases him by April end as someone from her team is supposed join back after completing the Maternity leave

But later although she released him but didn’t shared the feedback when it comes to Probation ending around June end

And now few days back they called him to ..Office and asked to write resignation on paper .and ask to submit the laptop and ID card and told that to it’s his last day

That was completely shocking at first and hard to believe that Infosys can do such thing

But yeah later lots of discussion all around it’s confirmed

Moreover he was working as consultant with around 8 + YOE

It’s shocking and still a traumatic for me

No PIP …no warning email ..nothing ..but yes Still it happened

If he was still on probation then above makes sense. There won’t be a notice period. Most likely he didn’t get a project after he was released. They would not have confirmed him as he is getting released. And then unfortunately for him he could land a project

But here in Infy multiple other got confirmed even without getting a project as well

So that is point that even going through process and following everything ..still no trust

Most likely since he got into project and git released and manager might have extended his probation citing some negative comments. If he had got a project he would have been safe. There are only very small % of people who will get confirmation without getting a project.

Layoffs are a new norm even in service based companies now. Gone are the days when we're blowing the trumpet of job security in service based orgs.

Yeah..understand but not even a week time ..no verbal communication ..no emails …suddenly calling to office and ask to submit laptop ..like a nightmare

I didn't get any work in my allocated project yet. It's been 6 months with any work but I changed two projects in the last 7 months.
Last week I got an email stating my probation was completed and I'm confirmed.

Nothing happened to me...!!
