Hi all, I am working as a Subcon in infy with 16 LPA for 3+ YOE. My manager is asking me to convert into infy for permanent role. I am okay if they give 30% hike but my doubt is will they pay this.? And if they can't pay any consequences I have to face.? But my manager don't have other backup for me as well. Is it good for me to fight for my expected Pay with infy .? Can anyone please advice

Try for 30%, if that doesn’t work settle down at what they could offer. 3 yoe and 16 LPA is a good pay with regards to Infy. Once you become an FTE at Infy, you can switch after an year to other company as FTE, for rest of your career you can work in FTE roles.

What is your skillset. Asking out of curiosity. As your experience most people in infy don’t get paid half of what you are getting paid

Sorry but it will be difficult for 30% hike.. Infact you can expect a pay cut.. Also you can work beyond 6 months.. I have subcons working for me from last 3 years.. They were recently converted to Fte.. Subcon salary was 25.. Fte 21 but the benefits like insurance, job security, paid leaves are their with Fte which is not available as a subcon

You can give a try, but subcon to infy resource they can try to get with the same pay or even less As it comes with a permanent role and some benefits.

Contractors are paid way more than regular employees. Hence when you convert to a regular employee if you are paid same as your current, you should be very happy.

Any project subcons cannot work more than beyond 6 months, leadership team will question managers. Either manager has to look for FTE or he has to make you to become FTE. You can negotiate, not sure how much HR can give. If they cannot pay, only option is we have to look for FTE and need to terminate subcon.
