Trending @Infosys; Regarding Asking For Promotion

Hii fellow Infoscions Had anyone ever mailed the senior managers for asking for promotion. ?? If yes then please help me whom should we send mail regarding Asking for promotion. Should we apply to delivery manager directly, as Current RM says ask previous RM and Previous RM says ask Bench RM as you were on bench during that period. And the Bench RM says apply to Current RM . I am stuck in a loop here. Should I send a promotion request mail directly to my delivery Manager???? Please answer I need some solutions to this problem.

Can anyone tell doe April to june quarter if someone name send for promotion when they will expect confirmation??

Sending name is not equal to promotion. Every level lead will rank it and send. At each level some will be filtered out. So sometimes you lead/managers also don’t know if you will get promoted in the same quarter when they nominate or not. Folks nominate in last quarter got their confirmation mostly last week. Folks nominated in this quarter will get their confirmations in July 1-2 week.

That means any quarter starting month who got nominated ,chances is to get next quarter starting month. Right??

Only thing you should ask in this company is early release once you get another offer outside.

Every quarter the manager has rights to nominate some names for the promotion/progression but you have to attain the role maturity for the same. Like one of my friend got progressed in 9months whereas me and most of my colleagues got progressed in 12 months. So it totally depends upon your manager. You can also ask HR regarding this but please ask your manager first.

What is the role maturity period of jl4A and if someone nominated in april to june quarter when can be expected promotion confirmation??

I am at level 3A so can't tell. U may ask the HR or simply raise an AHD.

Only your current RM has the power to promote you. It has to come from his slots his nominations. Now problem is that you are the newest resource under him. Why should he give you the promotion slot when he has other equally deserving folks under him and who he knows far more than you. Generally the lower role you are the lesser this is a problem. The higher role you are JL4 or JL5 the more difficult for you. But if you are under the same DM but manager changed you can email the manager and DM together giving the points on why you deserve the promotion. If DM also changed then it’s difficult for you to get unless you show some performance in first years. But if you are last two commendable rating or above guy and well over role maturity then push for your case with them even if dm has changed

After I have asked hike and promotion, they started to do micromanagement. My logging hours are monitored and raising an question why you logged of before 10 mins. like that... But other days I was working for 16hrs and no one questioned why you are working extra hours.

Either try the IJP or send email to your manager and delivery manager together. You may also send email to your unit HR asking for guidance and explain him situation with both the managers.

No need to ask anyone. We have IJP (internal job posting) . We will get multiple mails from IJP for openings , which consist openings with position details as well. Please apply through IJP. They will connect you for interview round then you will get selection mail if you cleared that round.Tq.

If you Role Maturity satisfied you can ijp for that role if you are in bench
