Trending @Infosys; Reflections on Dedication, Loyalty, and Value
For nearly six years, I've poured my heart and soul into this organization. My commitment has always been about more than just a paycheck; it’s about a deep-seated loyalty and giving 100% effort every single day.
As an Individual Contributor, I consistently delivered beyond expectations. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), my team has been a top performer, consistently ranking among the best across the shared services. Now, as a Team Lead, the performance of my team continues to be nothing short of exceptional.
This year, that dedication was tested when I canceled my Durga Puja leave—a significant personal sacrifice—to ensure our shifts ran smoothly because I had prioritized time off for my team's key pillars. We are running a smooth operation because of this collective commitment..
Despite this level of performance, loyalty, and personal sacrifice, the formal recognition I've received has been a "Met Expectations" rating, with no tangible appreciation from leadership.
It's a stark reminder that in some environments, results and loyalty are not always the primary drivers of success and recognition. It highlights a frustrating dichotomy: while some focus on strategic visibility over concrete delivery, those of us who prioritize the work on the ground often find ourselves undervalued.
This isn't just about a rating; it's about the fundamental question of value in the workplace.
I will continue to lead with integrity, but I’m now focusing on ensuring my hard work is aligned with an environment that truly understands and rewards dedication.
Let me know if you also feel the same as me or if you are being recognised ?

There could be 3 possible reasons for the ME rating. 1. Your manager has no clue of what you are doing or at best has superficial knowledge. So make it point to highlight the complex tasks you have delivered on a monthly basis.
2. You have very tough competition amongst your peers. And your manager has only limited slots of CD and above , so in relative ranking you went down. The criticality of your project, the chances that you can leave or the work you do outside project can affect your relative ranking.
3. Your manager is incompetent and giving preference to his coteries. No other choice but to move out from your project company then
