When will slots be available to the people who all are having eligibility of 2.5 years above experience? What is this slot availability? Is names will auto picked from JL2 to JL3? Or manager will recommend? Our names Auto picked means how will they filter
Every quarter , budget is allocated for certain number of promotions/progressions . Those number of promotions are called slots. It’s not mandatory every quarter slots will open. Also slots on per role basis and will vary depending on your account and unit. If your account/unit is doing well more slots will be available. Now for each slot there will be multiple eligible candidates always . If every body gets promoted on time as per role maturity then infy will have to make everyone a CEO in 25 years. The higher you go the tougher the criteria becomes. At JL3 and 4 levels it’s primary what you are doing on project after that it’s your project work plus what your are doing outside projects. Progressions generally are time bound but promotions the manager has to nominate you . If you are commendable and above rated two times , keep pestering your manager. But at the end if he has c slots and 2c people are there he will have to choose keeping experience, performance , any other incentive already given to employee etc to decide which c to pick. Also depends on your managers pull with his DM. As usually slots are given at DM level and then managers fight to get their guys promoted. So if your manager is not very vocal you may miss on chances.

Yes to an extent on whom he chooses and how much he can push his folks in front of his higher ups. But at the end slots are limited so he can’t promote everyone at same time depending on level you will be 1 quarter to 60 quarters delayed compared to someone of the same experience. There are DMs with 15 years experience and team leads with 18 years experience in the company!!!
