Trending @Infosys; PF Amount Transfer

I resigned my job at Infosys and my LWD was on 9th of April. Till now, i was upskilling myself and didn't get a proper job. I received a mail from Infosys stating that to transfer the PF amount or to withdraw

Can't I retain the amount in the previous employer name till I get a new job..??

Also, if I am to withdraw the amount, will there be a tax deduction..?
