I joined as JL5 one year ago. What are the chances of my manager giving me an onsite opportunity? I have already brought this up with him but did not receive any satisfactory response from him. He has given me a team to lead offshore. Pls suggest the approach in this case.
I don't understand why people expect on-site as something "automatic". It solely depends on your "weight" in your role and project. The overall experience you have with Infosys is just 1-2 years, and unless you have a proven record of being onsite previously and your role is exceptionally focused on onsite support, I don't think any manager roles would find it reasonable unless you prove so.
Spend like one more year and then ask again . Ask him if he can put your name for next year’s lottery or not
Your chances are slim. Focus on excelling in your current role and make yourself indispensable. Then, bring it up again with your manager.
