Trending @Infosys; No learning in infy
I'm feeling that working in support project is worst. It kills energy and passion of coding.
I'm working in support project of .net since last 1.8 years. In starting, I thought that working hard will make me visible so I worked hard silently. Now I'm working on repeated tasks only, just client calls and incidents and non tech activities, no coding or development opportunity. When I joined infy, I developed good coding and DSA skills and by time this support project is killing my skills. Now I'm feeling since some time that I've not developed any technical skill.
I knew the reality and now started shifting to Java from .Net. But sadly after having experience of 2.6 years, I'm still finding myself fresher.
I told my aspirations to manager and and asked for release because I'm too frustrated in this support project because I like to do coding and further I've not received any hike having commendable rating and 2.8 years experience.
Now I'm getting release from project and I'm starting again with new energy and shifting to Java from .Net. I know that I have to learn too much but I'm hoping for good.
Hopefully I will make switch asap.
I think, if any fresher is getting support project, then it is not good for their career.
Please share your experiences as well. It is much appreciated.

If you are passionate about coding, I would suggest the Power Programmer Bridge Program. This is a great opportunity especially for freshers who like coding. I too was in your similar situation when I was a fresher and my first company did not have such programs.
It is good that your manager at least released you. Now if you have time, make good use of it and do not worry about the past. Do not worry of still being a fresher. Look at the bright side like being a fresher but still being able to handle complex task which can be impressive. Just be consistent with your learnings.
My primary goal is to clear power programmer but after practicing hard, not able to clear it. So I'll try to switch.

If possible keep on trying both as the preparation for the power programmer exam, should also help you in the switch where DSA is needed during the interviews

Definitely you need to switch, put papers even if you don't have an offer in hand. Because of 3months notice period, you won't get offer as well. So, put papers before itself and you search for job after 2 months, you will get multiple interviews.
But one suggestion, as you got commendable rating, wait for atleast 3 or 4 months. You will be promoted to TA with 15 - 18% hike. Y iam telling this is. After promotion, while switching you can ask for more salary to that company.
I asked manager regarding promotion to TA. She informed me to wait minimum one and half year for it.

Hi,I am also stuck in thos problem for now 2 years.I am so frustrated now.My confidence is declining day by day.I don't have the courage to ask my manager for release. Please suggest something.

Gather courage and ask manager. Else put down paper and move on

Dil duki mat kr bhai. Support project kill agar tum fresher ho so skill up. Switch kr and achi company pe. Yha fir kisi se banti ho toh development project mein gus ja YHI pe jisse switch mein fyda hoga
Due to Introvertism, koi circle hi nhi ban pa rha😢 So I'm hoping only for switch.

Me too facing the same issue, please let us know how you have got release from the project.
Bro they assigned me a new application to support and to handle every activity of it. Due to no proper KT and help from TL, I found it difficult to handle. So I kept asking them for release. So now after months I'm getting it

Skill to project mapping is the worst in Infosys destroying the future of the young generation, motivation & wasting skills. In fact, it only impacts Infosys profit in the long run as projects motivated people will work to 2x speed, thereby impacts organization productivity.
HR must do something to enhance skill to project mapping as per the aspirations of the candidates.
Opposite is also true where a person who don't like coding much is put into coding. Hence they get frustrated and cannot deliver the sprint on time where a person on support project who is ever to deliver the piece of code is kept idle & being forced to do pity jobs. 😒 Sad reality.

Same here
