Trending @Infosys; Need help in release from project

Hi I have recently joined a project 1.5 months back and have resigned due to work pressure but still I am being made to work on tasks with unrealistic timelines. Nobody is supportive and the codeflow nothing is clear. They are treating me as equal to the other folks who have been in this project for long which has made everything miserable. Tried asking my manager to which he told can only release you once I get someone from upper management as your replacement. How can I leave this project and go to bench? I am not even able to study anything. They are pinging late night asking for status and always keep telling make sure this gets done today.
