Trending @Infosys; Need Advice – HR Round Pending After Layoff

My friend was laid off 5 months ago (had 2.5 yrs of experience then) and just cleared the technical rounds for a new job in INFOSYS . Only the HR round is left.

Should he be honest about the layoff or say he’s still working and available to join immediately?

What’s the best way to handle this to avoid offer issues and still make a strong impression?
