Trending @Infosys; My Journey From IBM as a Systems Engineer to Application Developer to Cloud Consultant at Google
Hi Folks!!
I got a lot of messages in my DM asking how I change the domain from SAP to cloud. What was the roadmap i followed? Which technologies i preferred? What were the entry barriers? And many more......
Let me give you a brief about myself.
I started my actual professional career from IBM as a system engineer, where I was alocated to SAP project. I didn't like the technology much as I was more interested into cloud domains. But since I was a fresher, I couldn't do much about it since, I didn't have any credibility to prove that I can perform much better in cloud domain.
Still, I pursued the technology, I was given and parallely I started learning more about cloud.
Ibm is a very good company, and if you're active active enough with lots of connections, you can create opportunity within Ibm itself. I started making connections in IBM and started learning more about AWS cloud.
After 18 months, I got a chance to get re-skilled myself as an application developer for AWS cloud. That was no-brainer for me!! I completed the training within one month and got into one of the best projects in Ibm. I completed around 40+ hyper scale cloud certifications while working in Ibm.
It's been few months. I have left IBM and I am working as a cloud consultant for Google via Infosys.
I'll be happy to share the knowledge I have taken till now if someone is looking to change their domain from any technology to cloud.
I cannot guarantee that you will be successful, but I can guarantee that if you follow this path, you will at least gain some knowledge and cloud domain that you can showcase in your resume.
If i get a majority vote below , i would post a mini roadmap for starters in the next post 🙂
