Trending @Infosys; Lateral Joiner as ACON

I have 2.2 years of experience as a Java developer along with Spring Boot. After joining infy they have selected me to card and payments bank. I was super excited to join that client as I thought I would have a good learning curve.But unfortunately they have given excel work and I have discussed with my reporting manager he is telling me that it is a short term project. But I don't hope that we will happen we are running behind the delivery plan. Any idea what I can do?
