can anyone share your experience about JL6 level? Is it generally a people-lead / delivery-lead role, or an individual contributor role depending on the project

Currently it’s mixed. Old timers are jn more people lead role. In fixed price projects where infosys is driving delivery and not client they can be in delivery lead role. But off late most of the new comers are working as individual contributors as they may nit have maturity of manager but their skillset needed a higher salary band. It all depends on your unit. But expectations from JL6 these days is to be combination of delivery lead, people manager, individual contributor, RFP lead , client facing , helping with revenue/margins and internal operations !! Some people do more of 1,2 of these activities and skip through rest. All depends on how your unit/DM wants to utilise your skills.

It's like manager??

Can be many- people manager or technical like an Architect or pre sales etc. focused on organisation goals along with client engagement. Ideally preferred in client locations. Downsides- less hikes, more scrutiny if not performed, 24/7 from offshore and permanently stuck in a loop.
