It’s in two categories - one is categories where you are taking temp exceptions for a month or two . If you are otherwise coming to office but die to some emergency or other reasons want to wfh short term it is being excused. Second category who have full exception - every manager has 5-10 % quota . If he feels resource is critical and wfh will help retain him/ her he can use his discretionary power

If not, he asks to raise OnDuty so he can directly approve it, rather than going and taking any other approval.

If I apply for 4 days of exceptional wfh, and suppose the manager approves it then later will it create any problem. I mean HR or DM can ask or not?

My manager said the same last month and now my time in project is coming to an end and I asked him to release me from his account. He said he can exceptional approval if I agree to work for the next project under him. So it is possible, but only when manager chooses to help I feel
