There is a different between layoffs and optimization. During layoff good/great guys loose their jobs irrespective of their performance. Happening in big US companies and Indian start ups. All due to budget cuts, changing priorities etc. During such layoff most of these companies give employee opportunities to apply in another department of an organization. What you are seeing in infy is optimization, using it to shed the low performers. Yea some folks will get in this grind due to sheer bad luck or incompetent managers but it will mostly be for the lowe performers. Maybe bottom 2-3% of the company

Yes but if lower performers cuts off then what about high performers they need to some assurance for them too right . Most of the managers dpm etc don't know how to balance they are doing for their survival
