Trending @Infosys; Is this behaviour fine?
Suppose I work in a heavily-dependent project where my seniors left already, I am the senior now, most of knowledge is with me and most critical problems are solved by me and I am the critical resource with over 5+ years of experience on the same project/account. Finally, the last working day came and I had to leave for a different company. Within 3 months of notice period, enough KT was given and responsibilities were handed over. Things were concluded and shared as mail to the Manager. But still somehow juniors are not capable enough to handle the project/problems on their own. Am I still liable to take calls or respond over WhatsApp if these children try to contact me? Is this even legal as I am no more bound to the company, I am an outsider now and it is more like a security incident as per the policy? Has anyone faced this kind of situation before in their career?

Yeah i did face it recently. I left company in mid july but still the person whom i had given kt was constantly pinging me over whatsapp snd i stopped replying to his messages. And now he stopped pinging me. Here the person who is replacing you is at fault because in front of higher management they'll pretend that they may handle everything but when it actually occurs, they fail to do so. They don't communicate clearly to manager that they are not ready to take responsibility fully.

Even if they communicate to the manager on my last working day that they are not ready to take responsibility fully, what could the manager do?

Either management will try to retain you or find a good resource who can replace you. But it's their headache now. Don't be so nice with people and focus on your own career.

Nope you have no obligation. As long as code is not shared over WhatsApp emails there is no violation here. Your are just being humane . Being humane is not an obligation it’s just your wish. You can cut off any time you want .

Your wish

NOT at ALL block them
