Trending @Infosys; Is this a good time to plan a baby?

I am planning a big personal decision and I wanna understand if I can do it in the next few months without worrying about switching away from our company dearest.

  • How long a paternity leave can I realistically take?

  • Has your super manager / manager / team been helpful to you after your baby was born?

  • Any perks / hacks I should know about?

Official paternity is 5 days. Any additional leaves you need discuss with your manager in advance. All depends on the type of project you work in. If you are working in a well managed project with redundancies built in and you have adequate backup there won’t be an issue people will cover for you. But unfortunately sick projects are a rarity nowadays in infosys. Also depends on type of role you play/your skill set. Some roles /skill set offer more flexibility than others. How your manager/ super manager will be ? There is no one size fits all response to this. But in general haven’t seen any special consideration given to such employees. So you will have to soft skills build such relationships so that your manager understands and doesn’t put extreme dependencies on you. With agile and client hell bent on micromanaging projects it’s becoming more and more difficult to give any special considerations to anyone. No official perks and hacks it will entirely be your personal decision and how much time you can get for yourself today. Paternity will not give you any additional soft corners !!!
