Trending @Infosys; Is It Just Me? Or Are Projects Getting Worse These Days?”

Hi All, Just wanted to share a few things I’ve been experiencing lately — hoping some of you might relate, or have dealt with similar situations and can share how you handled them.

A. Project Experience Turning Sour I've been working on this project for over 2 years now. Initially, everything was smooth, but over time, things started going downhill — from bad to worse.

B. Poor Onboarding & Skill Mismatch As we all know, people come and go, but now the issue is with the new resources being onboarded. They're being hired directly into L2 roles without even basic knowledge of L1 tasks, and many aren’t even from the same domain. Despite repeated explanations, they struggle to grasp basic responsibilities — and it feels like we’re forced to spoon-feed them every step of the way. These folks have 4–5 years of experience, yet lack fundamental understanding. What’s more frustrating is that they keep pinging us even when we’re clearly occupied, and if we say we’re busy, they just don’t get it. In many cases, we L1s end up doing their work as well.

C. High Workload + No Support We're working in shifts with limited resources and high incident volumes, but our manager doesn’t seem to acknowledge our concerns. Every time we raise an issue, the response is the same: “No budget.”

D. No Way Out I’ve even asked to be released from the project, but was told that per policy, JL3 roles require an 18-month minimum, and no one has been released so far. Honestly, it feels like the manager knows the new joiners can’t handle the project and is holding on to us to keep things running.

E. Hitting Breaking Point At this point, I’ve decided I want to move out of the project no matter what. But now, I’m hearing indirect threats that trying to leave could land me on the layoff list.

In Short: Worst kind of politics Constant pressure Toxic environment Surrounded by incompetence

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s faced something similar — how did you navigate through it?

Thanks for reading.

Hmm.. seems like that.. Most of the team members are so fed up with this and they are starting to take risks by dropping the resignation without any offer in hand because of this constant pressure and the treatment receiving despite of the efforts given. And the ratings will be like Needs Improvement/ Met expectations.

This are things are common in infy. I can relate with this. After more than 5 year's in infosys I recently switched to another company due to all this.
