Trending @Infosys; IJP for JL5

I am on JL 5..am I eligible for IJP on JL5 in some other unit and do I need approval of my reporting manager before applying

The point of IJP is either you want a new career in a same job level or you want a promotion to next level. For both of the cases; I hope you have had any prior discussion with your manager and he has told it cannot happen in the next foreseeable future . And that is where you go for an IJP. You don’t need manager approval for applying IJP. Also if you get selected; your manager cannot stop you because you have had already a discussion earlier

Yes, you are eligible for IJP but instead of applying to same level it's better to go next level. If you are at 5B then apply 5A and if you are at 5A already then apply to 6B. Because once you moved to new Unit, u need to wait long for next promotion. Regarding approval no need to get anything, manager has to relieve you in 60 days upon selection.

Whole point of IJP is your manager has minimal say once you are selected. Once selected he will be informed that you need to be released in 2 months

Approval is not required for applying ijp, but once you are selected. Your manager has to relieve you so there marks discussion btw you and him/her will happen
