IJP can be a long and tough road. Promotions via IJP can take months and require persistence. Some say it's a rigged game, but if you're determined, go for it.

Thanks considering I have an year at least (to wait) and it seems more a chance than an assured opportunity, yet would like to explore it in a systematic approach.

Given the fact that we are not going to have a significant hike (if at all there is any), the promotion looks to be the only way to increase one's remuneration (a switch is not an option for me).
