
Trending @Infosys; I was in an internal project till now, today I got an Alcon Email, which said that I need to get a billable project after 31st of may. Should I be concerned? My manager never told me anything, and this never happened before.

Let me put in a simple way. There are two conflicting situations. On one side HR is asking for billable utilisations for resources while on the other hand delivery management is focussing on cost optimisation through automation and AI and reducing the manual effort (allocations) in Fixed price project, so target is to release as many resources as possible to bench and company is not growing also In terms of business so no new billable projects. Hence pathetic situation and this leading to long bench for employees and PIP and layoffs etc.

Same I'm also in project and recieved the same today to get a billable opportunity ASAP.

Even i was in an internal project, but somehow i managed to get out of it. The manager used to harass me, made me work weekends and on leaves as well. Initially i used to go against my mind and even deliver what was asked, but then it became too frequent and she started attacking me with grudges, for saying no for working on my leaves.(genuinely sick) I was going through a very bad phase mentally(personal), and she just made it worse and for nothing. I am JL3 so she used to blackmail me with her managers name. I beared it for a pretty long time but then she never gave me space when i took leaves for my well being, i went to her managers manager, vented out and as expected, he just justified her behaviour. Mentioned its normal and it was my responsibility to be available all the time, there was no use of sharing personal stress with them as well. I was given no space.
I felt there was no use doing an internal project for them. No billable utilisation, no consideration , no humanity, no use.

Ask the manager to extend the allocation

Same thing is happened with me..I am in accelerate project which is of no use.

If you’re in bench try to switch company.
