Trending @Infosys; I met someone who was on Bench for almost 2 years ðŸ˜
Was talking to them and apparently this is what happened.
Month 1 - Joined the org and went into training Month 3 - Training completed bench begins. Month 5 - First Project Interview Month 7 - They get a project and start receiving KT. Month 9 - Project Extension gets cancelled by client
Month 10 - On bench again Month 15 - Project Interview again Month 17 - Accepted in new project Month 18 - Payment delays from client end
Month 20 - Project is finalized and is about to start. Month 21 - Guy decides to resign after getting a new job knowing that this is bad for his career.
Has anyone heard of this happening?

On bench for 1 year 2 month.
Got released from previous project cause client decided to make it internal.
Month 1: on bench
Month 2: Got training
Month 3: Got into actual job, but had transfer issue so manager decided to release me
Month 4-6: bench, I contacted everyone I could and got assigned to a training by end of this period
Month 7-8: Got training on a big data technology, I want to be a data engineer so I was happy about this. Great training, but again due to transfer issue I didn't get selected.
Month 9-11: On bench, preparation of dsa for power programmer role, failed.
Month 12: Took the idea of job switching seriously as I heard rumours of people getting fired, started preparing.
Month 13: showed interest in a project requirement, as I thought it would be better to be on project in such a volatile environment. But it was actually training again and that too in a totally irrelevant technology. Got transferred without even a interview and was never given any idea of what their profile was
Month 14: attended trainings and kept preparing for job switch.
Month 15: still going on. Now they are calling me to base location or there will be repercussions according to them. People are still on bench there too, I am attending office from nearby office.
Still preparing for job switch, Zinda hu, ladh raha hu

Very common in infy after 2022

I have seen people on bench for over 2 years without any productive work. They have no visa. But, want only onsite assignment. Some will apply leave if we go to HR.

@Tigerr what's your YOE in Infosys?
