Trending @Infosys; I got promoted to TA last month. After a month hike came which is too less (7.9%). People with less rating got more hike percent. How?
Can I ask HR the reason behind this? Is there a possibility of increase? I had a good performance. People around me said that wait for hike, it will be good. But now it’s a disappointment.

What was the yearly hike you got ? If promotional and yearly hike are in same qtr it is creating issues.

Yes if promotion and yearly hike same quarter only greater one will be counted. Is a bummer especially when you get hike once in 3 years. Less hike could be because you may already be at the highest percentile on a particular job level.

Um.. yes the promotion and yearly hike happened at same qtr. But ideally I thought they should separately handle this and people will receive their due hikes.
Promotion is happening based on role maturing and performance, and yearly hike is accounting the ratings or performance throughout the year.

You already got promoted and getting hike in same quater then there is a ceiling how much total increment you would get. If you got good hike in promotion than delay your promotion to next quarter then only during promotion your new salary would be considered. If promotion and hike happens in same quater than for both increment your base would be old salary only.

Thanks. Got it. I feel that timing was bad in my case. From 3 years they haven't given any hike, now they gave in such a situation where it didn't made to full potential.

They calculated this so they can give less hike. This is going since long time I can confirm this. They will create such a rule you won't get full hike.

If your package already high than the other who has less rating then definitely they will get much much than you… now I think you all have same packages. ( there are package limit criteria based on designation you will get not beyond, if you have beyond already then even you will not get any hike)

I see. Well others had less package, and lower in designation too. That makes sense. Though I wasn't aware of existence of such criteria. Thanks for info.

They have theor own made up criteria... Dont expect mucch

Ha. I was informed that criteria is based on respective designation. And a cap limit is set for particular package, which seems to be the case here. But yes, it's foolish to expect anything good here.
