Trending @Infosys; How many of you here are forced to work on Weekends as well by your manager?
I don't think people are voting with exact info...in my view no one can force you to work during weekends, Unless you understand the project requirements.. during weekend if support is needed as on call and that too rotational within team so it's not forceful..there could be instances where you are not on call but someone else but he is unavailable due to some reason, and taking on call on his behalf is also not forceful .. I don't know meaning when people say they are forced to work during weekends
In my project i have experienced, My lead once told that my manager will approach me to give some work on documentation for another project/team, My manager didn't approach me for 3 weeks and on a Sunday i suddenly got a mail from my Manager to login urgently for "help" and i had to... it was my last day with my mom in my hometown I wanted to spend that Sunday with her but I couldn't, I am okay with working on weekends but I don't want to entertain these "urgent" things where i was not informed prior
And i don't like that they won't pay for the weekend work instead they give compoff, i don't even have time to use my already earned leaves (i have around 30), who needs a compoff??
But once in a while is not categorised as Forecfull working on weekends... and there are many ways to tackle such things...but any ways
