For the last few years, I am being posted to a location far from my hometown but I want transfer to location near my hometown. My manager is not allowing me to work from there and neither releasing me from my existing project. What step should I take so that I can get transfer according to my will. Should I drop a seperation and when HR asks about reason of resigning, I may say that I am having location constraint, will they initiate my transfer then, please suggest me friends. I am really in need of some suggestions.
Resigning surely gets everyone's attention at Infosys. But before taking that step is there no one who can help you with this? Like your Manager's manager or Delivery Manager. You can try reaching out to these people. Location transfer should not be an issue to begin with. I had gotten location transfer easily. I would suggest keeping resignation as your last option. First try and explore other options. Good luck
Your managers /DM power to transfer you depends on the scope of their unit/account/project. Most managers/DM will not accept your request if it means having to release you their unit/account/project. As it’s a revenue loss for them. They don’t think beyond their unit/account/project as they have no incentive to do so. That’s why infy has IJP where you are not dependent on anyone and can apply and move. But yes minimus 18 months is needed which is fair. I just wish they make it one year
