Trending @Infosys; Does TCS offer get rescinded?
I received an offer letter from TCS, because of which I resigned from the current org, and 30 days before joining I am now receiving a call from the recruiter, and he is saying that the joining date has to be extended by 2 months or so!
He also mentioned that although the offer will exceed 120 days, the offer will still be considered as valid. I am not sure what he is up to, but it's not giving me good vibes at all.
I have few questions - Has it ever happened with others that, after receiving an offer letter and doj is mentioned on iBegin Portal also, they(TCS) delay the DOJ further?
In TCS, under such cases you have everything ready - Offer letter, DOJ, docs uploaded etc, has it ever happened that the offer gets revoked or reconsidered? (Although the HR guy told me that the offer won't be revoked, but this offer validity extending after 120 days can then have no limits r8?.. Like after extending it once, they can extend it again)
Lastly, shouldn't the project manager of the team know about such a scenario where HR is unnecessarily troubling the candidate. I am asking because, he said (over the call) that it's due to client requirements that we will have to postpone the DOJ.
LOL same thing has happened to my colleague. he said he searched on youtube he saw many people saying the same. so not only you. quite unethical by TCS! seems like their ethics also passed away after Tata passed away
Same happened with me as well my DOJ at TCS is 4th NOV but HR called me and said it will be postponed to Jan next year
For safe side have some other offers as well, so that it won't be stressful

I faced the same issue a 1.5 years back, postponed the joining date for 1.5 months. they will honor the offer letter. but i joined infosys.
TCS sometimes delays joining dates due to client needs, but offers usually stay valid. It's frustrating, but keep in touch with HR for updates.
