Trending @Infosys; Consultant

I have recently joined as a consultant. My friends who worked earlier here said they were doing over 12 hours a day and there's no work life balance. How stressful it is and how's career growth.

Checkpoints:

  1. Never argue with your manager. It will only make it worse for you here.
  2. Always say yes to everything when asked and later show reasons that it couldn't be done due to some external factors( trust me only they are given priority over the ones who say genuinely it can't be done)
  3. Growth, forget it unless your manager has a crush on you.
  4. Stress they give enough whether its enough or you can handle more it purely depends on your strength๐Ÿ’ช

Welcome to Infosys. I wish you get a decent team so that there is no need of the above-mentioned points

All depends on the client and project combination. No universal rule applied

Your friends are right. I am a SCON working for almost 12 hours everyday. Thankfully, not on weekends (till now). If you want to give more priority to WLB than career growth, my advice will be to work at 70% of your capacity so that you are not bombarded with tasks and responsibilities. If they find you capable and efficient of doing 2 peoples job instead of 1, they will use you like anything. This was my experience, but as others said, it depends on your manager and project.

Can someone please explain the difference between sse and associate consultant

Is consultant are considered for non programming persons ?!

SwirlyNoodle

Assoc consultant is JL4, SSe is jl3a. Freshers joining as ACON will mostly be in consulting streams ( from MBA colleges) or similar role in power programming streams(STG group) who clear some higher level exams at time of recruitment. Normal btech freshers would join as SE jL3b. So Acon will have both programmers and non programmers depending on the specialized unit you join or recruitment exams you cleared or whether mba non mba recruit.

Honestly it all depends on which team you are in and how your manager is. Don't think about hikes, awards, recognition and you are fine ๐ŸŒ Enjoy your time
