How many days can laterals be on bench.What are the bench policies and consequences for the next appraisal year

Also,will I receive my variable pay when I am on bench.Please mention the variable pay policy too
FYI - In offer letter they mentioned the variable pay will be paid every month for 6 straight months.
Need some guidance on the policies.Appreciate all your responses.
