Is it possible to get 1 month of break? Also if I wanted to quit immediately without serving notice period what would be the complications. Is it possible?

Hi, My friend was also in a similar situation, he took a 1 month break stating metal(stress) issue. After the break also he faced the same toxicity so put down his paper, wanted to serve complete notice period but was released immediately.
