I have been employed at HCL as a software engineer for the past three years and have not yet received a promotion. I would like to inquire about the process for receiving a promotion at HCL.
Additionally, I would like to know if speaking with my manager about a promotion would be beneficial.
You should talk to your Manager regularly to get feedback and achieve your goals, which will lead to your promotion/growth. Never hesitate to initiate the conversation, you can start with your achievements, appreciations and things that you are currently working on and finally about your next level.
My azz, In hcl many managers are not from your tech, if they intend to give you promotion they would otherwise it doesn’t matter, I have a friend there who just got pip because he has surpassed his manager in skill and given a better presentation on clients call. Hcl is not employee based it is a manager based company. My manager told me I'm lacking only testing skill (I'm a dev) when I done the testing team work in whole 6 months period not a single word of appreciation and I'm still getting that old rating 8 if your wondering
